First opened in 1967, The Alpenhorn Cafe has ever since been a mainstay of Lake Chelan's South Shore. Now owned and managed by Watson's Harverene Resort, Watson's Alpenhorn Cafe has a renewed dedication to good food, good people and good times. Basically "Brand New Old Fashioned Fun".

A Valued Jewel of Watson's Resort History

In 1966, Oly and Thelma Sandam approached the Watsons with an idea of starting up a drive-in on an overgrown piece of land that was owned by Watson's Harverene Resort. This lot was situated across the highway from the Lake Chelan State Park next to First Creek.

Almost 50 years and several owners later the little drive-in known as "The Alpenhorn" still remains; and on June 22, 2011 Watson's Resort purchased the assets of the business which has been located on Watson's Resort property since its beginning. While some things have changed over the years, much remains the same. The Watson family is very proud of this history at First Creek on Lake Chelan's South Shore and 2011 marks the beginning of an all new chapter in the Watson's History Book.
